The 2-piece Nanook2 BlackBone uses the shape and size of a traditional west-Greenland paddle. It has mild shoulders that transition from the loom (shaft) to blades. The durable epoxy blade tips are round and as wide as the blade . The paddle itself is made from western red cedar (Thuja plicata) – lightweight and beautiful wood resistant to rot. Pine strips on the loom add stiffness to our paddles. As a finish, we oil the paddles with tung oil.
The unique oval loom carbon reinforced joint is made by Kajaksport, and is as short as possible to maintain more natural wooden paddle´s characteristics. Just push the button and you can split your paddle in 2 same size pieces. Weights average 30 ounces for the 220cm size, making this one of the lightest Greenland paddles on the market.
