The Session pants and jacket combo is a great alternative to the one-piece paddling suit for people who want more versatility in their cold water paddling wear. Ideally suited for use on waterways where you don't need the full immersion protection you'd get from a full one-piece drysuit (so yes for winter paddling on local rivers and small lakes, but not as much for early/late season paddling on the Great Lakes).
