The B-17 tripping boat was a big hit in 2018, so for 2019, there's now a more compact version suited for folks who want something just as bomb-proof, but a little more maneuverable.
One neat aspect of the B-16 is that the hull lamination is such that there's no need for a forward thwart, making it a boat that can be paddled from the bow for someone looking for a roomy solo tripper.
B-16s are available in:
- StarLite aramid (39 pounds)
- BlackLite carbon/aramid (41 pounds)
- WhiteGold (53 pounds)
- IXP (61 pounds)
Compared to the popular Northwind 16, the B-17 has more rocker and a symmetrical hull, making it better suited for moving water situations (but a little less efficient as a flat water tripping boat). Order it in the new IXP construction, and you have the ideal family hauler, without ever having to worry about the boat breaking or suffering major damage in case of a smack up against some rocks.
